Hailong comes from China, and he graduated from Jilin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in June 2005.
He obtained his Master’s degree in June 2008 from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The following two years he worked in Basilea Pharmaceutia China Ltd. as a senior organic synthesist.
In June 2010, he went to Changchun Institue of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and obtained his PhD degree under the supervision of Prof. Erkang Wang in November 2013. During his PhD studies, he focused on the biosensor construction, molecular device, and DNA-based complex molecular computation.
In April 2014, he started his postdoctoral research on the application of microfluidics device in biology in Houston Methodist Research Institute.
Hailong joined Gothelf Lab as a post doc in December 2015 and focuses on the project of small molecular detection based on DNA-mediated homogeneous binding assay for potential clinical drug monitoring
In his sparetime Hailong likes swimming, playing table tennis ball, jogging, and watching movies.
