Several members of Gothelf Lab seized the opportunity to have a fun and active evening together on Feb 21, 2016, and at the same time become acquainted with the area of curling.
Once in a while Aarhus Curling Club offers free tryouts where you are introduced to the game, the rules, how to throw and place a stone, how to sweep etc.
Also Aarhus Curling Club was pleased with our talented fellow group members who learned quickly, and their visit is in fact posted on Aarhus Curling Club’s website, http://www.aarhuscurlingklub.dk/.
At the end of the curling lessons there was a match between two teams, which played to a 2-2 draw.
The participants had fun and only a few bruises as a reminder the day after, as ice is indeed slippery.
NB: The popularity of curling in Denmark grew significantly after the Danish Women’s Olympic Curling team won a silver medal at 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
