Gothelf lab consists of professor Kurt Gothelf as the group leader, post docs (~2), PhD students* (~8), Master’s students* (~2), Project students* (~2), Bachelor’s students* (~3), a lab technician and an administrator.
*Description of student levels in Gothelf lab:
- Bachelor’s students are in the final semester of their three-year Bachelor’s studies. After they finish their Bachelor’s project in the lab they hand in and defend their Bachelor’s thesis.
- Project students are holding a Bachelor’s degree, are in the first year of their two-year Master’s studies, and are performing an experimental project (10-30 ECTS). They will finish the project by handing in, and subsequently, defending their project thesis.
- Master’s students are holding a Bachelor’s degree, may have performed an experimental project, and are in the final year of their two-year Master’s studies. They will finish their studies by handing in, and subsequently, defending their Master’s thesis.
- PhD students are holding a Bachelor’s degree and maybe also hold a Master’s degree. Alongside the traditional three-year PhD programmes commencing after Master’s level, there are PhD programmes, which can be accessed either one year into the Master’s programme (the 4+4 model) or immediately after the Bachelor’s degree (the 3+5 model).
